SharePoint and Microsoft Project
We think SharePoint and Project are, in combination, "killer" applications.  It is not necessary, nor probably desired except for large organisations with large IT kills to use Microsoft EPM which integrates Project and SharePoint.  Great things can be done simply by using SharePoint and Project "out of the box" using some simple techniques.  See a diagram about this approach on our blog.
